Pools

A 20,000-sq.-ft. deck, filled with cabanas and umbrella-shaded daybeds, surrounds the resort’s massive three-tiered pool. From the comfort of the 24-hour heated pool, guests can order food and beverages from Olu Poolside directly through the Marriott App between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The resort offers daily rentals for poolside cabanas and beachfront casabellas and chairs with umbrellas. Luxury poolside cabanas can accommodate up to eight guests and include a refrigerator, flat-screen TV, Bluetooth speaker and other amenities and services.

Kapalua resort’s six bays are all within a 10-minute drive and offer beautiful beaches home to colorful wildlife and opportunities for snorkeling, sunbathing, surfing and other water-based activities.

Six Bays And Beaches

Award-winning beaches and pristine bays gracefully form the Kapalua coastline. Kapalua resort’s six bays and beaches – D.T. Fleming, Oneloa, Kapalua Bay, Napili Bay, Mokuleia Bay, and Honolua Bay – are either walking distance or accessible within a 10-minute drive. Teeming with marine life, they are favored by everyone from avid sun-seekers to water sport enthusiasts.

Fronting The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, Honokahua Bay (D.T. Fleming Beach) is a long white sand beach perfect for running and sunning. This popular location is also known for boogie boarding and surfing.

Kapalua Bay - Named “America’s Best Beach” in 2018, Kapalua Bay has garned worldwide recognition for its beauty. Popular for all ages, Kapalua Bay features a beach activity hut offering snorkel, kayak, and stand up paddle board rentals. 

Honolua Bay - Honolua Bay is an excellent location for summer snorkeling in the summer months. In the winter months, it attracts top surfers from around the world, with large winter swells and one of the best surf breaks on Maui. Surrounded by high rocky cliffs on both sides the bay is sheltered from the wind and keep the water calm during the summer. The cliffs also provide a great vantage point to watch surfers and the waves.

Kapalua’s miles of trails run along the coastline and amid the mountains offering spectacular scenery and views along the way. Learn More

Mahana Ridge Trail - This 20-mile roundtrip hike is strenuous, but hikers are rewarded with breathtaking views of Mokupe’a and Honokahua Gulches. The path travels through former coffee and pineapple fields.

Village Walking Trails - This collection of six trails ranges from moderate to difficult and follows the former cart path of the Village  Golf Course and features panoramic views and a hidden lake.

Coastal Trail - This 1.76-mile coastal trail runs along the ocean from Kapalua Bay Beach to DT Fleming Beach, passing through the sand dunes of Oneloa Bay and The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua.

Fitness

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua is proud to offer superb wellness classes, great for adding some variety and inspiration into your daily workout. Classes include a Kapalua fitness hike, Pilates, and aquacise. The Fitness Center is open 24 hours a day, with workouts available on Technogym cardio and strength training equipment, Peloton Bikes and Tonal.

Start the day right. Take a brisk 2.5 mile walk around the Kapaluacommunity. Walk the Cardio Loop Hike or Kapalua Coastal Trail, enjoy ocean views andbreathe fresh, crisp Kapalua air. Please wear tennis shoes. 40-45 min.

LABYRINTH MEDITATION WALK

Labyrinths used for meditation are based on patterns that date back thousands of years and have roots in many cultures and traditions. It is both kinesthetic and introspective, a complete mind-body integrative activity, while we visit few of Maui’s treasures including some of the most beautiful, weathered rock formations. Please wear tennis shoes. 40-45 min.

POWER CORE

Wake up your core with this flowing hybrid fitness class to create a grounded center. Various fitness methods with be taught with and without equipment. 50 min.

FLOW YOGA
Challenging sequences are designed to create focus, wake the inner body and still the mind. Advanced poses will be given in this class but will be built from a safe foundation and worked into intelligently. Aromatherapy included. 50 min.

STRETCH & RELAX
This class provides static stretching for all major muscle groups and easy relaxation techniques for all fitness levels to enjoy. 45-50 min.

SUNRISE YOGA
Focuses on basic alignment principles, breath work and a short meditation.Start your day connecting more fully to body, mind, and heart. 40-45 min.

YIN YANG YOGA
Reap the benefits of both Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. Move through a series of poses to warm up the body, move energy and tap into the power of the breath. The second half of class we will slow things down and shift into Yin Yoga designed for a deeper stretch that will target deep connective and fascia tissue, increasing your  flexibility. 45 min.

Sunset Ceremony Nightly in the Hotel Lobby, Complimentary

Nightly at sunset on the lanai of the hotel lobby overlooking the sparkling Pacific Ocean, the sound of the conch shell will echo throughout the lobby to summon the energies of the day and allow us to say mahalo (thank you) for such a wonderful day in Kapalua. The beat of the pahu (sacred Hawaiian drum) signify the heartbeat of the day’s light and a short oli (chant) will put the day to rest. 

Hula Lessons, Complimentary

Learn this unique dance and how it preserves and perpetuates the stories, traditions and culture of Hawaii. Our hula instructors will teach a traditional hula along with the story of the dance.

Sense of Place, Complimentary

The complimentary Sense of Place program begins with the presentation of Dr. Elizabeth Kapu‘uwailani Lindsey’s award-winning documentary, Then There Were None. The film is followed by a discussion of the history and subjects broached in the documentary. Then, guests are led on a walking tour to the border of the Honokahua Preservation Site, where they discover its significance to ancient Hawaiians and role in today's cultural renaissance. 

Self-Guided QR Code Cultural Art Tour, Complimentary

Guests can take a self-guided tour to learn about the cultural significance of artwork throughout the hotel. By scanning the code, you will receive an image of that piece of artwork along with an explanation from the Hawaiian Cultural Advisor, Clifford Nae‘ole, detailing out how that item relates to the local culture and traditions of the Hawaiian people.
