Guardians of Baja

Zadún Los Cabos, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, introduces Guardians of Baja, a reimagined Ritz Kids program designed to foster meaningful connections between young guests and the natural beauty of Baja California Sur. Rooted in immersive storytelling, children become “Honorary Guardians” alongside three symbolic characters—Tuga the Turtle, Roco the Sea Lion, and Coli the Hummingbird—representing ocean, coast, and desert ecosystems. Through this narrative, the program blends education, creativity, and play, promoting environmental awareness while celebrating local biodiversity. Guided by four pillars—Nature, Exploration, Responsibility, and Culture—it offers hands-on activities from wildlife discovery to sustainability experiences, complemented by wellness sessions. Guardians of Baja reflect Zadún’s holistic philosophy, delivering enriching, purposeful family experiences while elevating Ritz Kids to a Reserve-level offering.

Kids learn about Mexico’s history, culture and environment through fun and educational activities including bird-watching, gardening and storytelling.

Winter whale-watching, nighttime stargazing and snorkeling amid the coral reefs are among our youth activities.

Adults

Activities designed to foster a greater understanding of the environment include diving amid a coral reef, seasonal whale-watching and desert hikes.

Sea Experiences

Anointed the “aquarium of the world” by environmentalist Jacques Cousteau, the Sea of Cortés is among the world’s most diverse, attracting migratory species and fishermen from around the world. Resort excursions explore above and below the water’s surface to showcase the beauty of nature and the importance of preserving it.

Symphony on the Sea

Majestic, massive and mysterious, whales travel to the Sea of Cortés each winter seeking warmer water; and they’re not alone. Manta rays and leatherback sea turtles join them on the journey. Resort guests can embark on a private excursion to catch whales in their natural habitat. One may even be lucky enough to spot a blue whale, the world’s largest animal.
