Bird-Watching

Using spotter scopes, binoculars and identification
books, guests can spot migratory and resident birds throughout the resort. The guided adventure, done via bicycle, is the ideal way to introduce young guests to nature.

KID’S CATCH & RELEASE FISHING

The nature reserve’s man-made watering hole plays an important role in the area’s ecosystem and is perfect for beginners. Kids can learn how to cast a line and other tricks of the trade.

HERITAGE FOREST TREE PLANTING

Located within a nature reserve, the resort believes in the importance of preserving the environment. With its Heritage Forest and the help of guests, the resort aims to have 4,000 native Ghaf trees planted by 2020.  

INTERACTIVE FALCON & OWL SHOW

Witness the majestic beauty of the falcon in this interactive show. Suitable for all ages, the experience explains the importance of falconry in Bedouin culture and history. The show also features the desert eagle owl, barn owl and Harris hawk.

NATURE WALK

A guided hike amid the desert sand dunes is the perfect way to spot its inhabitants including the runner ant, Ghaf trees and the beautiful Arabian Oryx.  

NIGHT WALK

While the desert may appear quiet after nightfall,
evening is when many of its inhabitants emerge. Led by a knowledgeable guide, this walk beneath the starry sky offers the chance to spot foraging reptiles, rodents and herbivores.

STARGAZING

The vast desert sky is a beautiful opportunity to experience serenity and learn about the solar system. Astronomy experts will help you spot stars, constellations, visible planets and galaxies.  

WILDLIFE FEEDING EXPERIENCE

This early morning experience invites guests to feed the resident Oryx and gazelles in the Al Wadi Desert Nature Reserve. Also, get a chance to learn about Nature Reserve wildlife from the expert guides and take photographs in this unique setting.

ARCHERY

Archery has long been a part of Bedouin life, and guests are invited to try their hand at the sport. Day and evening classes are held within the archery range and are available for adults and children ages seven and older.  

DESERT BIKE CARAVAN

Specially designed off-road bikes allow you to climb the rolling sand dunes and experience a downhill thrill. They offer a great way to tour the desert and provide a workout for beginning and experienced bike riders.
