Since first opening its doors during the summer of 1987, the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater has served as the heart of artistic and cultural life for summer residents and guests in the Vail Valley. Since then, more than one million people have visited this spectacular outdoor venue, enjoying performances from some of the world’s premier artists, including John Denver, Willie Nelson, Bob Hope, B.B. King, Santana, Norah Jones, and orchestral favorites such as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and New York Philharmonic. The Amphitheater seats 2,500 with 1,260 fixed seats and 1,240 general admission seats that offer excellent views of the stage from a grassy hillside.
