During the Festival of Lights in October, Berlin transforms itself into a city of lights: the Brandenburg Gate, the TV Tower, the Berliner Dom Cathedral, the Funkturm Radio tower and many other buildings and squares will be dazzling with the colourful light projections each night.

Join this meaningful experience showing a very different aspect and look into the Berlin metropole. The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin works in partnership with Berliner Tafel, the oldest "Tafel" in Germany, with a focus on distributing food to those in need in the capital. You will join fellow volunteers at the Berliner Tafel Logistics Center to either sort and select food items for distribution or help in one of their restaurants providing meals to young children. Your efforts will be gratefully appreciated. Minimum age 16. 48 hours advance reservation required.

Jazz Festival Berlin

In early November Berlin becomes jazzy. This is when the Berlin Jazz Festival traditionally takes place. For more than 40 years musicians from all over the world come to Berlin to present and celebrate the various styles of jazz.

Kids Festival: Pirates and Mermaids
November 2, 2014 from 2 to 6 p.m.
You and your children can experience an eventful and unforgettable day and take a trip to visit the robbers of the seas and the beauties of the deep.

An exciting programme with many highlights, taking place over around 1,800 square metres awaits the little ones: climbing games, tug of war, dance show, wood painting and a face paint and dressing up area. While the little ones let off steam, parents can enjoy culinary treats in a relaxed atmosphere.

25 Years Fall of the Berlin Wall

The 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall will come on 9 November 2014. Many special events and exhibitions to commemorate the anniversary of this historic event are planned across the city.

Short Film Festival Berlin

The Short Film Festival Berlin was established in 1982. It is the second oldest German short film festival (after Oberhausen), and is recognised as the second most significant and oldest international film festival in Berlin after the Berlinale.

Louis Lewandowski Festival

The Louis Lewandowski festival took place first in 2011 and is organized by the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Synagogal Ensemble Berlin. The ensemble distinguishes itself for being the only choir singing Lewandowski's liturgy every Friday evening, every Shabbat morning and on all Jewish holidays.
