A great opportunity to help preserve America’s early transportation history! The C&O Canal operated for nearly 100 years which offered a passage along the Potomac River for products such as coal, lumber and agriculture. Learn about the history of the C&O Canal while taking on a great responsibility to maintaining the canal’s natural beauty. Join The Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown, the C&O Canal Stewards of Locks 3 & 4 as you partake in activities such as picking-up debris, weeding or raking, or painting benches and fences. This opportunity is available between the months of March-November, weather-permitted. All ages are welcome. Please provide four weeks notice.
