Be it food, money or a human life, the DC Central Kitchen fights wasted potential by reaching out to the less fortunate to feed and leads them to more fulfilling lives. Their unique program recovers unused food, prepares and delivers meals to partner social service agencies, trains and employs the homeless for the food service industry, and engages more than 6,000 volunteers each year. It is a noble effort that will benefit from your time and commitment as you work with the men and women in their nationally recognized Culinary Job Training program, preparing food, chopping vegetables, sorting produce, mixing salads, portioning meals, de-boning meat and sorting cans.
