Family time in the great outdoors couldn’t be more fun than a Geocache Adventure. Use your own GPS unit or rent one from the Season Pass Office in the Village at Northstar to locate caches hidden throughout mountain. Geocaching has been described as a “high tech treasure hunt”. It is the activity of using a GPS (global positioning system) handheld device to locate more than 430,000 caches or treasure boxes, hidden in nearly every country around the world, from city streets to ski slopes to hiking trails. These caches contain treasure, usually toys or other little trinkets.

Ta-Hoe Nalu Paddle Festival

Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is one of the fastest growing sports and the Ta-Hoe Nalu Paddle Festival is one of the largest paddle events in the United States. The Ta-Hoe Nalu Paddle Festival will kick off at the Kings Beach State Recreation Area with a Registration/Re​ception on Friday, August 9, 2:00-6:30 pm, followed by a free live Music on the Beach concert as well as a vendor village including food, drinks, demos, and more.

Family time in the great outdoors couldn’t be more fun than a Geocache Adventure. Use your own GPS unit or rent one from the Season Pass Office in the Village at Northstar to locate caches hidden throughout mountain. Geocaching has been described as a “high tech treasure hunt”. It is the activity of using a GPS (global positioning system) handheld device to locate more than 430,000 caches or treasure boxes, hidden in nearly every country around the world, from city streets to ski slopes to hiking trails. These caches contain treasure, usually toys or other little trinkets.

Autumn Food & Wine Festival

A week long celebration of the senses. Every now and then, life conspires for a moment of near perfection. Around here, we define that as blue skies, fine wine, the amazing creations of renowned chefs and the first traces of autumn. This year’s event kicks off on Labor Day weekend and continues all week throughout North Lake Tahoe. A grape stomp, classes, tastings, music, art, wine, and a grand finale featuring a Culinary Competition and Grand Tasting at Northstar California Resort ensure moments of absolute bliss. Scenic Lift Ride on Northstar California

Come out to Northstar California during the summer and hop on the Gondola, Tahoe Zephyr Express or Vista Express chairlifts for a scenic ride to the top of the mountain. Once you reach the top, the sky's the limit. Whether you are looking for the perfect view of Lake Tahoe, a picturesque picnic spot, local wildlife or some of the native flora and fauna, you will find it here. Leashed four-legged friends are welcome. Lifts are open on Friday evenings until 7 p.m. NOTE: The lifts will be closed on the following dates due to special events: July 8-15 and September 27-29, 2013.
