Kayaking and Eco-Tours



For guests who want to experience a taste of old Florida's natural preserves, Adventure Experiences' interpretive eco-tours offer guided canoe or kayak tours of Shingle Creek, the Headwaters to the Florida Everglades. Guests can learn about the history of Shingle Creek and observe the native species such as alligators, bald eagles, osprey and barred owls in their natural habitat.

PACKAGES

Eco-Tour on Shingle Creek
Traveling back in time on Shingle Creek, guests will enjoy a two-hour guided Eco-Tour. Water Guides will tell you the story of Shingle Creek and all its inhabitants as you navigate your own canoe, while paddling through scenic Old Florida.

$60 adults; $30 children 17 and younger (with an adult). Available everyday at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., reservations required. Maximum 15 guests per excursion


Bird Habitats
 
Leave a lasting mark on the Grande Lakes Orlando wildlife with a one-of-a-kind birdhouse. Paint your unique birdhouse then travel with our guide to Shingle Creek, where you will install your birdhouse. On your next visit to Grande Lakes Orlando, see what aviary species have inhabited your creation.

$60 per person. Available Saturday & Sunday at 4 p.m. Based on availability Monday-Friday. Reservations required.


Guided Bird Watching

Explore over 300 acres of Grande Lakes natural surroundings while locating and identifying dozens of Central Florida's native avian species. Walk or ride along with your guide as you look and listen to find some of our most elusive guests. Bushnell Binoculars, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are included.

$20 per hour adults; $10 per hour children 17 and under (with an adult). Maximum 5 guests per excursion, based on availability.


Wings Over Florida Bird Watching Program
Wings Over Florida is an award-winning program of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservtion Commission designed to encourage you to identify as many Florida native birds as you can. As your skills improve and your bird list grows, you can apply for increasing levels of achievement at five levels ranging from a life list of 50 Florida species (Beginner) to 350 species (Elite Florida Birder).

Based on Availability. $60 adults; $40 children 17 and younger (with an adult).


Kayaks and safety equipment are provided on your journey. All excursions depart from The Ritz-Carlton Golf Clubhouse.
