Preserving Our Monuments, Memorials and Parks

Saturday, September 19, 2009

Our Nation’s Capital is a historic city of imposing monuments, inspirational memorials and beautiful expanses of parkland. The National Park Service (NPS) is charged with protecting these treasures so they may be enjoyed by all who visit this world class city. Ideal for the entire family, you will be met by a NPS representative who will talk about the history of Washington, DC and the location where you will volunteer. Your hands-on experience varies with the season and the need, and can include weeding, trimming overgrown shrubs and plants, painting park benches, or planting native foliage or annuals in famed circles and squares.

Adult $40, Child $20 (profits benefit the National Park Service)
