Yappy Howl-O-Ween

Thursday, October 26, 2017 4 to 7 p.m.

Yappy Howl-O-Ween is the chance for pups to strut their stuff in their favorite costume. A panel of judges will determine which canine will take home the prize in the costume contest. First place prize in each category is a hand-painted dog bowl by Debby Carman of FauxPaw Productions. Donation to enter the costume contest is $10 per canine per category. Proceeds support The Canine Companions Veterans Initiative.

Gingerbread Extravaganza

On display November 19 through January 2

Each year, the resort’s pastry team creates an amazing gingerbread extravaganza. This year’s concept and design was the brainchild of Executive Pastry Chef Sylvain Haage and showcases today’s attention on climate change, sustainability and clean energy through a representation of the California landscape and how The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel supports and protects the environment. Chef Haage and his team will spend more than 500 hours creating the incredible confectionary display that will be fashioned out of an astounding array of homemade gingerbread, colorful candy, sweet treats, baked goods, and other tasty confections.

Surfing Santa Competition

Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19 Check-in opens at 7:30 a.m. Contest begins at 8 a.m. $60 Entry Fee Salt Creek Beach

A fun surf competition where men, women and children dress like Santa or other holiday inspired characters and surf Salt Creek Beach to benefit Surfers Healing.

Holiday Surfboard Auction

Saturday, November 18 through Sunday, December 31

The Annual Surfboard Auction benefits Surfers Healing. Dozens of surfboards will be on display throughout the resort lobby, bidding will close at noon on December 31.

Holiday Open House and Tree Lighting

Holiday music and a special appearance from Santa Claus. Guests are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to be donated to Miracles for Kids. Event is complimentary.

Yappy Howl-iday Celebration

Sunday, December 3, 2017 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Santa Claus will make a special appearance for the Yappy Howl-iday Celebration. This festive gathering of canines and their companions provides Fido with the opportunity to be photographed with the “Big Dog” himself – Santa Claus. In keeping with the resort’s Season of Giving, guests are asked to bring unopened canned or dry dog food, treats or dog toys to be donated to an animal rescue organization. Proceeds support The Canine Companions Veterans Initiative.
