Yappy Hour

Thursday, September 15, 2016 5 to 8 p.m.

Follow Fido to Yappy Hour, a monthly cocktail party for canines and their companions held on The Dana Lawn. Dapper dogs and pampered pups are invited to enjoy complimentary hand-made dog biscuits and refreshing libations including bacon, chicken, and beef flavored water, while their human companions can purchase beer, wine and barbecue.  Proceeds from the 2016 Yappy Hour season will benefit the Wounded Veterans Initiative of Canine Companions for Independence.

Yoga teaches students how to breathe well, stretch the body and relax, producing an overall heart-healthy workout. The various poses are designed to gently stretch muscles and enhance relaxation. Movements emphasize building strong abdominals and back muscles to enhance strength, muscular symmetry, alignment flexibility, grace and coordination. Use systematic practices of specific exercises coupled with focused breathing patterns. Complimentary for Resort Guests.

Sunset Service

At sunset, relax on the bluff and enjoy a picnic basket of wine and cheese or Japanese beer and handmade sushi. Sunset Service is $125 per couple and is available daily.

Food and Wine Experience: Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture, having been held since 1810. Executive Chef Brian Sundeen takes inspiration from traditional Octoberfest dishes and adds his casual California touch. A selection of German and German-style beer will complement the menu.

Yappy Howl-O-Ween

Thursday, October 27, 2016 4 to 7 p.m.

Yappy Howl-O-Ween is the chance for pups to strut their stuff in their favorite costume. A panel of judges will determine which canine will take home the prize in the costume categories of Dynamic Duo, Most Creative, Cute and Cuddly and, of course, Best in Show. First place prize in each category is a hand-painted dog bowl by Debby Carman of FauxPaw Productions. Donation to enter the costume contest is $10 per canine per category.

Surfing Santa Competition

Yappy Howl-iday

Sunday, December 4, 2016 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Santa Claus will make a special appearance for the Yappy Howl-iday Celebration. This festive gathering of canines and their companions provides Fido with the opportunity to be photographed with the “Big Dog” himself – Santa Claus. In keeping with the resort’s Season of Giving, guests are asked to bring unopened canned or dry dog food, treats or dog toys to be donated to an animal rescue organization.
