Agrarian experiences at The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte has expanded, thanks to the extensive recently-doubled Rooftop Garden. Output from the garden is available not only to property chefs and mixologists, but also to hotel guests via the new Lobby Farmers Market and Community Garden. This garden enhancement project has impacted all of the hotel’s menus, with just-picked ingredients now hand-ferried from the roof to chefs and mixologists for use in menu selections. Some of these include Bar Cocoa dessert boutique’s Mint Chocolate Chip Fudge, Citrus Rosemary Cupcakes, and Lemon Basil Macarons.
Guests who wish to spend Saturday morning observing a breathtaking view of the city in the midst of the hotel’s vegetation are encouraged to join a “Green Behind the Scenes” eco-tour, which departs from the Lobby at 10 a.m. One of the hotel’s tour-certified Lady or Gentleman will lead the group on a stroll through the property’s green practices, ending on the Penthouse level for a view of the Urban Cultivator and Rooftop Garden.
