At The Ritz-Reynolds, Lake Oconee in Georgia, family vacations become treasured memories; where time stands still and kids simply enjoy being kids. Our resort’s Ritz Kids program introduces young guests to both the natural wonders and rich cultural traditions of the area through a variety of supervised physical and creative activities. Designed for kids ages 5 to 12 and offering half- or full-day programs seven days a week, Ritz Kids is perfect for those on a quick weekend escape as well as those on a longer family getaway. Our program features:

  • Ritz Kids Camp: Daily 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ($85 USD per child, including lunch); half-day 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m. ($65 USD per child). Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance.
  • Kids Night Out: Themed evening of games and arts and crafts. Friday and Saturday 6 to 9 p.m. ($75 USD per child, including dinner and refreshments). Reservations must be made by 2 p.m. the day prior; fees applied for cancelations within 24 hours.

Our Ritz Kids resort experiences turn one of the top vacation resorts in Georgia into an imagination-filled odyssey by introducing our youngest guests to both the natural wonders and the rich cultural traditions of the local area.

Our Ritz Kids program offers a variety of supervised physical and creative activities designed especially for children aged 5-12. Offering full- or half-day options, seven days a week, Ritz Kids has something for every child.

Ritz Kids Camp
Whether going on a nature hike or scavenger hunt, hooking a fish or making a pine cone bird feeder, your children will be treated to a day of adventure they’ll not soon forget. Ritz Kids Camp is offered 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily; $85 USD per child with lunch included. Half-day programs from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 4 p.m. are also available; $65 USD per child per session. Reservations are requested 24 hours in advance.

Kids Night Out
Available Friday and Saturday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m., children can get away for a night of fun and excitement just for them. The supervised evening includes games, arts and crafts and loads of fun all centered on a special theme for the night! $75 USD includes dinner and refreshments. Advance reservations are required by 2 p.m. the day prior. Cancellation fees will apply for reservations canceled within 24-hours of the program.
 

In addition to our Ritz Kids program, we offer junior guests and families a variety of special services and amenities.

VIK Check-in
Located adjacent to the front desk, your vacation begins at our Very Important Kids registration desk, where children can sign the guest book and receive a fun scavenger hunt.

Leave Your Trace

Inspired by the myths and legends of the Creek tribes found along the Oconee; this children’s signature experience brings the outdoors indoors with crafting kits, legend books to take home, and a customized tepee. This experience is only available for guests staying in an Executive Suite, The Ritz-Carlton Suite, a Lakeside Cottage or the Lake House. Cost is $100 per tepee and $25 for additional camping supplies. This experience has limited availability and reservations are required. Please call 706.467.7130 to secure your reservation.     

Dooley’s Dozen Book Club 

A program to promote the love of literature, Dooley has approved and paw-signed 12 books for the year, selected at two levels based on age group (preschool through early elementary and third through fifth grades) and corresponding reading experience. During each stay at the resort, parents can enroll their children to receive a special delivery of one of the 12 books along with a special “puppy chow” treat created by the hotel’s culinary team. If all 12 books are collected throughout the year, the child receives a special photo session with Dooley and an award.

We offer special menus for guests ages 2 to 12; children under 2 dine free. We are also happy to puree foods for babies to your specifications. If you have any concerns regarding food allergies, please alert your server prior to ordering.

When we throw something away, where is away? What really happens to our trash? Is all trash created equal? Find out the answers to these questions and more as we learn how to help save our planet through art, games and, you guessed it, TRASH! How does our trash affect the world around us and what can we do to help?

Become a scientist as we run a series of experiments on one of the most fascinating substances on earth – water! This activity focuses on that amazing substance we call water – its properties, mysteries and importance. A number of fun experiments and games demonstrate the wonder of water.

This activity offers a chance to discover how and why myths came to be and look at inspiring legends from around the world. Investigate what is a hero and how not all heroes are legends of old. They still exist today! Who are some heroes in your life? Create your own story to share and inspire.
