The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua Fitness Center offers a wide variety of mind/body fitness classes and equipment as well as personalized training on both our Cybex Strength and Balanced Body Pilates apparatus. The Fitness Center is open 24 hours a day with room key access. Use of the Fitness Center is reserved for hotel guests ages 18 and older. Minors age 16-17 must be accompanied by an adult or have a signed Minor Authorization and Release Form signed by his/her parent or guardian. Minors under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the fitness center. For your safety and the safety of others, proper footwear closed toed shoes and fitness attire is required.

The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua is proud to offer superb wellness classes, great for adding some variety and inspiration into your daily workout. Whether you are an avid yoga or Pilates practitioner, or a first-timer looking for something new, we have a class you are sure to enjoy. If you have serious injuries or limitations, a private session in highly recommended before taking any class. All classes meet in the fitness center and are first come first serve. Space is limited. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to register for classes. Guests arriving more than 5 minutes late will not be able to attend class for safety reasons.
Our class schedule varies monthly and printed copies for your viewing will be available through the Fitness Center or Spa.
Classes listed below with an * are complimentary for overnight guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua. All other classes are $20, except for Pilates Reformer $45, 2 person max. For Reformer class please call Spa in-house at ext. 7280 or directly at (808) 665-7079 to reserve. Outside Guests are welcome to take class for a fee and discounted rates are available for full time residents with Hawaii ID.

Barefoot Body Sculpt* – A mind/body-based workout that incorporates Yoga, Pilates, and Strength Training Intervals. All movements are performed barefoot “Hawaiian Style” with detailed attention to form with focus on the hips and buttocks. Experience for yourself why a strong healthy body begins at your feet and creates balance throughout the entire body. Complimentary for overnight guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, 40-50 minutes
Beyond the Barre Workout – This fun inspired full body workout is a fusion of ballet, Pilates, & yoga, using precise isometric movements to get deep (burn) inside the muscles and active stretching to elongate the muscles. Sculpt, stretch, and strengthen your way to a long, lean, physique. 50 minutes, $20
Bottom Line* - This is the ideal class to target and tone the lower body and midsection. This popular class offers an upbeat workout, specifically designed to tone-up and tackle problems areas. Complimentary for overnight guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, 40-50 minutes
The Five Tibetan Rites Yoga* – The “Five Tibetan Rites” are a form of simple stretches that among many things stimulate the glands, muscles and nerves of the body to increase in vitality and stamina. They are a form of Yoga that is thought to have developed about 2500 years ago in Tibet. The mindful nature of these exercises is in alignment with eastern traditions of physical exercise as part of respecting the human body as a temple fit for the spirit to live comfortably. Gentle Flow Yoga – This is a perfect yoga class for those who like a soothing yoga class. The class is structured in a relaxing flow style, which smoothly links postures with breath for all levels. 60 minutes $20
Kapalua Fitness Hike* – Start the day right! Take a brisk 2.5 mile walk around the Kapalua community. See nice beaches and awesome ocean views. Breathe fresh, crisp Kapalua air. Enjoy the sounds of birds chirping. Sneakers are required. Complimentary for Ritz-Carlton guests, 45-50 minutes
Laughter Yoga* – Experience the stress releasing and happiness-boosting power of free-flow laughter. Simple empowering laughter exercises combined with gentle yoga breathing techniques allow pure joy to emerge from the heart. Fresh oxygen flushes the lungs, strengthens the immune system and boosts the body's "happy" chemistry. Laughter is truly the best medicine! All levels welcome. Maui Aqua-Fit* – Make a splash in this summer fun fitness class that tones and strengthens all major muscle groups using water as resistance, taught by master water instructor Tawney Lee Hunt. Complimentary for overnight guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, 45 minutes
Mindfulness Meditation with Music - Mindfulness meditation technique encourages the practitioner to observe wandering thoughts as they drift through the mind. The intention is not to get involved with the thoughts or to judge them, but simply to be aware of each mental note as it arises. This form of Meditation is actually much easier than it sounds. The wonderful bonus of this practice - meditating with music - is that the process, the journey itself, is highly pleasant. Every step of the way you are bathing yourself in uplifting sounds and music, balancing and healing your heart, mind and spirit. Pilates Reformer – This class is limited to two guests, so it is like having a semi-private session! The reformer provides finely tuned exercise resistance that allows one to work very precisely to develop good alignment, core strength, and flexibility. Guests must make a reservation for this class through the spa concierge. Twelve-hour cancellation policy applies. 50 minutes $45 per person All levels welcome
Power CORE – Wake up your core with this flowing hybrid fitness class to create a grounded center. Various yoga, Pilates and traditional fitness methods will be taught. 60 minutes $20
Restorative / Yin Yoga– This is a great class for those who want to do a lot of stretching, range of motion, and relaxation postures, soothing, and gentle yoga class which will serve both the body and the soul. Most importantly the class is designed to help you explore postures which will foster healing and self-care. Appropriate for all levels. 60 minutes $20
Pure Pilates* – (LEVEL 1 &2) Mat class based on the strength and flexibility principles of Joseph Pilates. Movements are controlled and performed with total concentration in a precise and flowing manner. This approach develops core strength and balance for a strong, lean and healthy body. Somtatic Yoga – combines gentle Somatic exercises and traditional Hatha Yoga. It will deepen your conscious awareness of your movement patterns helping to prevent injuries and bring the mind into a blissful state. Release your body and renew your mind. All levels welcome. TaijiFit Strength* /TaijiFit Flow (Tai Chi) – combines the best elements of fitness, meditation and the ancient martial art of Taijiquan (Tai Chi). Slow, flowing moves from martial arts and in TaijiFit strength, light weights will be used to increase the intensity. All levels. Complimentary for Ritz-Carlton guests. 45-50 minutes
YogaFit® – This flowing style of yoga blends balance, strength, power, and flexibility into a fitness format doable by individuals of any fitness level. 60 minutes $20
Yoga Flow – Challenging sequences are designed to create focus, wake the inner body and still the mind. Advanced poses will be given in this class but will be built from a safe foundation and worked into intelligently! 60 minutes $20
Yogilates – This class is perfect for the yoga practitioner who also likes core exercises. Enjoy the best of both worlds in one class! Improve your flexibility, strength, and balance from yoga while exercising your core through Pilates. All levels welcome. 60 minutes $20
Rise & Shine Yoga* – This light-hearted morning practice focuses on basic alignment principles, breath work, and a short meditation. Start your day connecting more fully to body, mind, and heart. Complimentary for Ritz-Carlton guests, 45-50 minutes. Meet at Terrace Lawn

Private Sessions Every effort will be made to book your desired day and time. However due to the high demand of Health & Fitness professionals availability is limited. Service Charge is allocated entirely toward gratuities for the Spa staff members. Two-week advance reservation is recommended.
