Winter Activities In Lake Tahoe

While cross-country skiing and snowboarding are what draw many to this Northstar California resort, winter in Lake Tahoe offers much more. Sledding, helicopter tours, full-moon snowshoe hikes and tubing are among the other activities available at this ski-in/-out resort.

The Northstar Resort Ski and Snowboard School has lesson programs suited for all levels. “Magic carpet” beginner lifts make the first day easy, with station teaching for those who prefer to learn at their own pace and skill clinics for advanced intermediate and above skiers ready to take it to the next level. There are a number of programs available including programs designed for parents skiing with young children and camps designed by women for women.

Designed to welcome new riders to the sport of snowboarding and help those already in the sport to improve their skills. To maximize the experience, all-day programs are limited to a maximum of six students. Experience the fastest growing winter sport in the world! Snowshoeing is easy to learn on carefully groomed, scenic trails with state-of-the-art equipment.

Take an exciting snowmobile ride through the Tahoe National Forest and experience spectacular panoramic views the Sierra Mountain Range and Lake Tahoe.

Tubing

The Tubing Hill, located mid-mountain at Northstar California, offers an exhilarating ride for all ages. Tubes and riders are transported to a tow lift to the top of the hill and slide down.
