A cooking legend has arrived

Berlin, October 2018 – At the end of 2018, Dieter Müller, bearer of multiple Gault Millau points, will join The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin, assuming a position as inspiring patron in the new restaurant and enriching the establishment with his cooking expertise. Originally from Baden-Württemberg, the gourmet chef shapes the international culinary scene and will use his knowledge in upscale restaurant culture to enhance the superior five-star hotel at Potsdamer Platz.

In addition to three Michelin stars, Dieter Müller's passion – cuisine – has lent him the name "German Marvel of the Kitchen", it is thanks to his work that German cuisine has undergone a revolution in the international world of culinary pleasures and now enjoys an excellent reputation. Schlosshotel Lerbach achieved culinary fame as a result of the successful "Dieter Müller Restaurant" and the legendary Amuse-bouche menu that consists of nineteen exquisite dishes served over five courses.

High-class cuisine based on sustainable sources and reflecting German specialties will take its place in the new restaurant at the grand hotel. Following from the inspirations of Dieter Müller and under the direction of Frederik Grieb, the kitchen will focus on a food-sharing concept selectively supplemented with new and creative influences. "My connection with the Ritz-Carlton brand goes back many years and it is important to me to be able to pass on my culinary knowledge that is founded on many years of experience," says Dieter Müller.

The restaurant's culinary team will be breaking ground with this new leadership. Frederik Grieb will soon assume direction as head chef of the establishment, which is currently undergoing renovations; Grieb will put into action the modern concept of the German cuisine of delicacies. Born in Münster, Grieb was most recently a sous-chef at the Dieter Müller Restaurant on the MS Europa.

As a Certified Sommelier of the Court of Master Sommeliers, Mathias Brandweiner will add his expertise in national and international wines in his role as host at the new restaurant. The top sommelier hails from Austria and also brings an international background to the Potsdamer Platz. He will be ready to advise restaurant guests in all matters and will ensure unforgettable gourmet delights accompany top quality service.
