Just as the gentle breeze off the Kamogawa river offers respite to the city of Kyoto in summer, The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto is offering a unique collaboration of refreshing Coupe Glacée parfait arranged by the hotel’s in-house patisserie, the world-famous PIERRE HERMÉ PARIS served in revered Kyoto pottery Kashogama, available from July 1st to September 30th, 2018.

Kashogama has long been at the forefront of developing kyoyaki-style pottery carrying the aesthetics of Japanese tea ceremony. For this special Coupe Glacée Collaboration, Kashogama’s owner Mr. Kasho Morioka has collaborated with Chef Regis Demanet atThe Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto to design a new range of original Kashogama glassware.

The Coupe Glacée parfait’s pot lid has openings delicately outlined in blue using traditional Japanese painting techniques to elegantly highlight the subtle contrast of the vibrant colors of the parfait beneath. This fresh new creation embodies old and new Japanese concepts, bringing together traditional techniques and contemporary flavors invoking the senses to mirror the colorful and elegant atmosphere of Kyoto. 

Coupe Glacée offers 5 signature varieties including "Ispahan" – a selection of rose, lychee and framboise and "Mahogany”; a medley of summer fruits - mango, coconut and lychee. The modern style of Kashogama pottery together with the modern French aesthetics of exceptional desserts encapsulating key concepts at the heart of Kyoto tradition; new discovery through the past and three stages of learning mastery.

Through this Coupe Glacée, the hotel is proud to offer guests a delicately chilled dessert, creating a beautiful East-West aesthetic, echoing the concept of The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto itself.
