M.B is the signature restaurant of the renowned Basque chef Martín Berasategui. Martín’s all-consuming passion for cooking began early in his life: he learned his trade at the age of 14 while helping out at the San Sebastian fish restaurant owned by his mother. Ten years later Martín’s own restaurant in Lasarte had earned its first Michelin star, and by 2001 he had brought that number to three - the highest accolade for any chef, and a tally he has maintained to this day. Today, Martín’s inspired interpretations of Mediterranean cuisine have made him a household name throughout Spain and the rest of the world. His cooking is characterized not just by its creativity and inventiveness but also by a profound understanding of flavour and a deep respect for ingredients: qualities that can be found in abundance at M.B. The restaurant headed in Tenerife by chef Erlantz Gorostiza recently awarded its first Michelin star.
