The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe ski resort is situated mid-mountain on the Northstar California ski area and features ski-in, ski-out access with mountain services. A seasonal, inter-mountain gondola connects guests between the nearby Village at Northstar with The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. The Village at Northstar centers around an ice-rink with numerous restaurants, bars, galleries and shops throughout. True North, the on-site ski shop in The Ritz-Carlton features premier brands of men's and women's ski and fashion apparel, top performance skis and boots, footwear, extensive eye wear, and accessories for outdoor recreation and relaxation. The Ritz-Carlton ski resort in Lake Tahoe provides ski valet services slopeside and upon check-in for every guest. In the ski valet area, equipment is stored and waiting for the guests. The ski valets will assist each guest with their boots and escort them to the slopeside terrace for ski-in, ski-out access to the Northstar lifts. When guests return to this exceptional ski hotel in Lake Tahoe, the ski valet will retrieve their equipment and store overnight.
The double lift accessing the resort’s beginner teaching area was replaced and realigned. The fixed grip quad chairlift – “The Big Easy” – greatly improves access to Northstar Resort’s beginner teaching terrain located just steps from our back door, and now provides ski-in, ski-out access to and from The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe from the mid-mountain area of Northstar Resort.
Guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe will enjoy the enhanced guest experience both on the mountain and in the Village at Northstar for the 2011-2012 winter season. Northstar California will feature a new high-speed chairlift that will service expanded gladed terrain and additional ski trails, construction of a new 500-seat on-mountain restaurant with spectacular views, new national retail outlets and a signature restaurant in the Village at Northstar to bring additional energy and nightlife to the popular mountain village.
Northstar California’s beginner teaching area has been expanded and redesigned to include more of the sculpted Smart Terrain™ that the resort has successfully demonstrated helps improve the learning curve for beginning skiers and snowboarders. This increase in terrain (twice the size of the previous teaching area), as well as new ski trails providing access from The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe to the mid-mountain area of Northstar Resort brings the resort’s ski trail count to 92, and its total skiable acreage to 3,000 acres.
