Bring the family out to paddle on the Cocohatchee River, part of a pristine mangrove estuary, located just five miles from the resort. Your guide will teach you about the importance of this eco-system, while you explore endless waterways and hidden coves filled with wildlife. You will have the opportunity to see a variety of native wading birds such as herons, ibis, osprey, egrets as well as dolphins and other marine life. This 2-hour paddle adventure is ideal for novice and intermediate paddlers who wish to discover more about our dynamic environment.

Wild Orchids of South Florida

Long before recorded history, the Florida panther roamed the wilderness that was Florida. We have found paradise here, and the panther is finding less to live on. Now this cat struggles to survive in their remaining habitat. Consequently, panthers explore the ragged edge of suburbia and seeing one is becoming more common. Join nature photographer and wildlife biologist Larry Richardson for an exciting look at Florida’s most popular predator, state mammal and severely endangered beast. You will be amazed at how close they’ve come to us. You will also be treated to this cat’s umbrella of protection to all other native animals that live within their domain.
