Florida Panther Refuge

Embark on a unique and hands-on adventure where you will clear trails and search for animal tracks while learning about the severely endangered Florida panther and other inhabitants of the refuge! As a volunteer with Friends of the Florida Panther Refuge, you will help maintain the panther refuge by clearing trails of non-native and invasive plants, so that it is safe and comfortable for the panthers and the prey that sustains them. By protecting the habitat for panthers, you protect our environmental heritage and health, and provide a wildlife legacy for our children and the generations to come. You will gain a better understanding and appreciation of the endangered Florida panther and how the existence of this animal can enrich our lives, and contribute to the improvement of the status of the approximately 80- 100 Florida panthers that remain in the wild.
A shuttle will pick up guests at the front door of the beach resort and transport them 42 miles to the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge. The Florida Panther NWR is located 20 miles east of Naples, on the northwest corner of the intersection of I-75 and State Road 29. We will return to the beach resort by 12:30 p.m.
Please contact us by Friday at 7 p.m. to sign up. The cost is $50 for adults and $25 for children. Lunch is provided.
