Designed by names like Bob Cupp, Tom Fazio, and Jack Nicklaus, Reynolds Plantation offers golfers who love the game a chance to play on some of the top courses in the nation.
TaylorMade Performance Lab
One of only eight facilities in the world, The TaylorMade Performance Lab at Reynolds Plantation featuring Motion Analysis Technology by TaylorMade (MAT-T) offers guests of The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation the ultimate in club-fitting. Created in collaboration with the same company that brought animated characters to life in blockbusters such as The Lord of the Rings and Polar Express, MAT-T was adapted by TaylorMade to show players a computer generated three-dimensional image of their swing. The animation can be viewed from any angle, above, below, front, back or side — and in motion.
Using a system of high-speed cameras and wearable reflectors, essential information is gathered instantaneously as the player swings and then analyzed by the club-fitting professional, providing immediate visual feedback. In addition, a separate launch monitor measures the speed, launch angle and spin rate of the ball. The result is a detailed profile of the player and data-driven recommendations on golf clubs, lie angles, lofts, shaft flex and irons. Top 100 Golf Instructor: Charlie King, Reynolds Golf Academy
Guests looking to sharpen their golf skills now have the opportunity to improve their game under the guidance of Charlie King, director of The Reynolds Golf Academy. Named one of Golf Magazine's "Top 100 Instructors," Charlie has more than 16 years of golf training experience and has written two golf instruction books titled, "You're NOT Lifting your Head" and "Golf's Red Zone Challenge."
Daily Golf Clinics
Charlie King offers golf clinics Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. at The Oconee Course. Monday, Wednesday and Friday clinics focus on full swing; Tuesday and Thursday clinics focus on short game. Clinics are $50. Private instruction is available.
The Kingdom
The Kingdom is a new golf innovation that was acquired through a partnership between Reynolds Plantation and TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company(TMaG). At The Kingdom, TMaG staff club professionals and their guests are tested and fitted for new golf equipment which is custom-built to that player's specifications. Using Motion Analysis(MAT-T) by TaylorMade vital information can be gathered through a launch monitor, multiple high-speed video cameras, reflectors and a computer. The Kingdom is also available to small corporate groups.
