27th Annual Celebration of the Arts – April 19 & 20, 2019

A winner of the prestigious Kahili Award from the Hawaii Tourism Authority, Celebration of the Arts is Hawaii’s premiere hands-on arts and cultural festival. Held annually, kama’aina (local residents) and visitors are invited to experience the “Hawaiian heart and soul” through interaction with artisans, cultural practitioners, workshops, films, hula performance, food and music. Hawaiian feather art, Ni’ihau shell lei making, Ohe hano iho (Hawaiian nose flute), printmaking, kapa making (Hawaiian bark cloth), primitive fired clay and many other interactive demonstrations are offered by more than 40 artists.

The highlight of the weekend is the abundant Celebration of Island Tastes, a feast of island spices and dishes from traditional Hawaiian to contemporary blends.  Families gather to share their favorite recipes while Hawaiian music and hula will set the atmosphere for a great evening to please every palate.

Events and activities are open to hotel guests, visitors and the local community and are complimentary, with the exception of the Celebration of Island Tastes.
