NORTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – November 26, 2018 – This holiday winter season, The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, located mid-mountain at Northstar California Resort, will remain the top destination for the ultimate relaxed California luxury family experience. From the moment of arrival, The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe provides a seamless experience for the perfect luxury family ski vacation. Driving distance from the San Francisco Bay Area, guests can also choose to fly into the Truckee Airport, only four miles away from the resort. Once at the Truckee Airport, guests of the hotel are greeted and transported to the mountain resort in a plush Ritz-Carlton Mercedes van. Skis and other gear are whisked away into ski valet for convenient future use, and families can enjoy the ease of ski-in/ski-out access at Northstar California Resort, commonly known as the best ski resort for families in Lake Tahoe.
When not on the slopes, The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe offers an array of festive family-friendly activities and programs around the resort. These include the new Very Important Kid (VIK) program, the nightly Marshmology s’mores roasting experience, special appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus, a life-sized gingerbread ski gondola and a dozen festively-decorated holiday trees on display, and much more. On December 21 and December 28, families can partake in Stars & S’mores with Tahoe Star Tours for an engaging fireside astronomy session that includes a science-based conversation about the cosmos, poetry reading, and telescopic viewing, followed by s’mores around the resort’s outdoor fire pit.
Families can also opt to purchase “The Total Package,” which includes luxury accommodations in a king or queen/queen room, a private snowshoeing lesson for family of four, a kid’s indoor campout package, and a $100 resort credit. The package starts at $899.00 per night and must be purchased at least seven days in advance.
In addition to deluxe guestrooms and suites, the resort’s two and three-bedroom Luxury Residences are available to book for the ultimate home-away-from-home winter getaway. As well as ample space and unparalleled views, families staying in a residence have access to exclusive experiences, including in-room massage treatments, in-room caviar and cocktail receptions, and in-room pasta-making classes with the resort’s executive chef, Mark Jeffers.
A luxury winter experience is never complete without fabulous dining options. After a day on the mountain, guests can ski or snowboard directly to the resort’s backyard and indulge in a glass of bubbly at the resort’s Après-Ski Experience for a lively toast featuring Moët & Chandon selections and a raw bar of chef favorites, including chilled shrimp cocktail, oysters on the half shell and ceviche. Guests can also dine at the popular Backyard Bar & BBQ, offering traditional BBQ favorites with a scenic view of the slopes. Or, visitors can opt for a more refined dining experience at Manzanita, the resort’s signature restaurant offering seasonally-inspired and locally-sourced elevated California cuisine. To celebrate the holidays, the resort will offer a festive Holiday Dinner and Holiday Buffet on December 25, as well as a New Year’s Eve Dinner on December 31 and New Year’s Day Brunch on January 1.
When Mom and Dad want some relaxation time, The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe has created a winter spa menu, which focuses on restoration, renewal, relaxation and recovery from Lake Tahoe’s wintry outdoors and sore muscles resulting from the various seasonal activities. Guests can also partake in seasonal fitness classes to stretch and heal sore muscles.
