The new Club Lounge serves as a home away from home for global travelers with new interiors and a series of elevated Club experiences.
Shanghai, China – January 2019 – 2018 is an important year for the Ritz-Carlton brand as The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai, first Ritz-Carlton property to open in Mainland China, has celebrated its 20th anniversary with a series of special experiences. To continue the legend of this pioneering hotel, the newly-renovated Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge is another remarkable milestone to celebrate by stepping into a whole new chapter in 2019. The refurbished Club Lounge has reopened on 12 January, 2019 and it reinforces the hotel’s unwavering commitment to providing excellent facilities and services. It also serves as a home away from home for travelers across the globe in downtown Shanghai, offering a series of elevated Club experiences beyond hotel rooms, combining intimacy, privacy and comfort in a redefined, contemporary, yet nostalgic ambiance.
Inspired by Shanghai’s glamorous 1920s and ‘30s and the exotic mood of “Ye Shanghai, Night Shanghai”, The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge is being transformed into a richly layered and tactile space with modern art deco motifs where the travelers can feel a sense of home while reveling in the comfortable and luxurious settings.
Located on 43rd floor of the hotel, the Club Lounge comprises a buffet area, a lounge section, business corner and a meeting room. The new entrance is marked by an elegant subdued threshold as guests enter along a gently curved, white lacquer-paneled wall with traditional molding. The main dining area consists of buffet bars and a central live cooking island surrounded by dining tables with black and tan leather chairs. On the other side of the lounge, the teal carpeted internet and library lounge is visually anchored with a custom apothecary-inspired cabinet. The combination of both modern and traditional, upholstered seating and dark lacquered pieces creates a graceful and comfortable retreat from the bustling city.
The Ritz-Carlton Club is not just about luxurious surroundings. Discerning travelers should opt for the Club floor rooms, which come with a dedicated Club Concierge team available daily from 6:30 to 23:30 and a 24-hour access to the brand-new lounge. From private check-in, welcome drinks, restaurant reservations to personalized itinerary suggestions or any individual needs, guests can be rest assured to stay and explore the city without hustle.
