Set within four historical palaces, The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna is a living story of the city’s rich past. The hotel’s luxury suites are an extension of this with original design details and artwork paired with contemporary touches and elevated amenities.
The Ritz-Carlton Albertina Suite carries on the legacy of Palais Ötzelt owner, builder and architect Anton Ötzelt, who housed his extensive art collection in the building where the suite is located. In partnership with Vienna’s renowned ALBERTINA museum, the two-bedroom suite features five masterpieces from the Batliner Collection, including works by Marc Chagall, Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas and Monet; VIP access to the museum’s exhibits and events; and a collection of art books and exhibition catalogs. Those inspired by the Ring Boulevard view can try their hand at creating a masterpiece of their own with an easel and traceable sketch of the famous street.
Set within two of the hotel’s four 19th-century palaces, these suites tell the story of Vienna’s beautification and expansion in the late 1800s. Outside of these accommodations, reminders of the city’s past remain, from the lobby lounge ceiling, with gold from the safe of the bank once housed here, to the lion faces carved into the façade to ward off evil spirits.
The hotel’s largest and most luxurious accommodation, this suite marries 19th-century charm with a contemporary touch. Located in the former Palais Gutmann, named for the rags-to-riches family who owned it, the suite retains an original piece from August Eisenmenger: Surrounding the living room chandelier, the ceiling is painted with two wreaths of angels representing the 12 months of the year and the four seasons.
This two-level suite is located in the former Club Noble Casino building; built in the late 1860s, it also housed several residences where single aristocrats and military would stay and entertain after a night at the casino. The suite’s design carries on the tradition of hosting guests with a large, separate living area (also ideal for working from “home”) and an impressive city view.

Before Franz-Joseph ascended to the throne in 1848, Vienna was enclosed within the city walls. Today, those walls are where you’ll find the Ring Boulevard, part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage historical city center. In the mid-19th century, Franz-Joseph set out to beautify his city, launching a wave of construction by renowned architects along the Ring Boulevard in a style that would come to be known as Ringstrassen architecture.
