PLAY The star of the summer is The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee’s annual ‘Live at the Lake’ Summer Concert Series. Kicking off Memorial Day Weekend, the 2019 Summer Concert Series will feature a variety of music genres from pop and rock, to jazz and country on select Sunday evenings June, July and holiday weekends. Guests can revel in a spectacular fireworks show over Lake Oconee following each performance, celebrating the end of another summer weekend.
• Sunday, May 26: Eric Dodd – Although he may call Nashville home now, this Lake Oconee native and regular performer at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee is returning to his roots once again to showcase his pop country hits. • Sunday, June 2: The Brevet – Making their way from California on their national tour, this five-piece pop rock band, will perform favorites from their explosive, ambitious new album, LEGS. • Sunday, June 9: Shannon Tanner and the Oyster Reefers – Always a crowd favorite, dance the night away to the tropical beats of this premier Jimmy Buffett tribute band. • Sunday, June 16: The New Respects– A high-energy rock and soul quartet, The New Respects promise a high-energy performance including songs from their debut album, Before the Sun Goes Down. • Sunday, June 23: Brenda Nicole Moorer – Hailing from Atlanta, Brenda fuses jazz, soul and folk elements into her songwriting which is prevalent on her latest album, Brand New Heart. • Sunday, June 30: Dave Barnes – A songwriter to country superstars such as Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett and Tim McGraw, Dave Barnes has had a standout career of his own, performing songs from his recent full-length album, Who Knew It Would Be So Hard To Be Myself. • Wednesday, July 3: Hot Licks and Rhetoric – This Atlanta-based tribute band brings the legendary and timeless sounds of Steely Dan to life in a set sure to have the crowd on their feet dancing. • Sunday, July 14: Lauren Jenkins – A rising country musician, and recently named ‘Artist to Watch’ by The New York Times, Billboard, and Rolling Stone, Jenkins will perform hits off of her debut album, NO SAINT. • Sunday, July 21: Fairground Saints – Landing a deal with Sony Music Nashville just two weeks after relocating from California, Fairground Saints captivates crowds with layered harmonies on hit songs including “Turn This Car Around,” and “Can’t Control the Weather.” • Sunday, July 28: Jason Eskridge – Returning for his 4th ‘Live at the Lake,’ Jason is one of Nashville’s most in-demand artists, having worked as a background vocalist or opening act for countless award-winning acts such as Zac Brown Band, Randy Travis, Lyle Lovett and more. • Sunday, September 1: Rubik’s Groove (Labor Day Weekend) – A high energy throwback cover group will transport guests back in time, dancing the summer away to the soundtrack of 80’s and 90’s hits.
While The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee already provides a variety of land and sea activities for guests of all ages, their most unique experience yet is making its debut for the summer. Explore Lake Oconee under the cover of darkness with new Moonlight Kayak Tours, complete with a guide and kayaks that illuminate the water below. As participants glide through the water, they’ll have the best spot in the area for optimal stargazing. The experience is priced at $35 per person.
SAVOR Two of The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee’s most popular dining destinations, Linger Longer Steakhouse and Gaby’s by the Lake, have unveiled refreshed designs just in time for the summer season. Linger Longer Steakhouse has elevated its interiors with neutral hues of blue, gray and cream, complemented by soft woods that simulate the feeling of being in an elegant private lakeside home. Along with a new look, the steakhouse has debuted Chill - a raw bar experience open from 4 to 6 p.m. daily serving up seafood favorites including oysters, tuna tartare, Jonah crab claws, whole lobsters and more. Joining this new experience, guests will enjoy prime cuts of meat, tableside carvings, and a selection of new savory menu items crafted by Chef Casey Burchfield.
A casual favorite for a laid-back lunch or waterfront drinks, Gaby’s by the Lake, heads into the season with a new neutral palate complemented by rustic hues, provides a relaxing atmosphere the rings true to the restaurant’s “No Shirt, No Shoes, Our Pleasure,” motto. Along with a revamped design, Chef Jordan Whitney has joined the team as Restaurant Chef of Gaby’s by the Lake. A Texas native, Chef Whitney is no stranger to southern fare and has been a part of The Ritz-Carlton family holding positions at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas and most recently The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City. New menu items such as Brisket Street Tacos and Black Angus Skirt Steak with creamy blue corn polenta, street corn, chimichurri, complement by old favorites including salads, sandwiches and pizzas.
Chef Shaun Thomas at the resort’s Southern-inspired dining experience, Georgia’s, is giving guests yet another reason to look forward to Sundays with their Georgia’s Backyard BBQ on evenings of summer concerts. Entrees vary each week, but will feature menu items such as a BBQ half chicken and grilled rainbow trout complemented by family style salads and appetizers comprised of vegetables and fresh herbs pulled directly from the resort’s garden. Barrel Room’s Certified Bourbon Stewards will be on hand serving cocktails from the lounge’s personal select spirits – the largest personal selection in the Southeast - while pouring cold brews from the Creature Comforts Brewing Cart. Georgia’s Backyard BBQ is priced at $55 per plate for adults and $35 per plate for children.
Summer wouldn’t be the same without a cold drink in hand while lounging in the sun. The Sand Bar is celebrating its second season open and the retrofitted rover will be serving up a selection of wine, beer, and their signature Frosé, along with light snacks such as guacamole, hummus and pita, and a southern staple – pimento cheese.
