GREENSBORO, GA – October 2018 – The most special time of the year is here at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee. Cozy up in front of the fire place, enjoy magical decorations and explore all the surprises that are in store as the resort decks the halls this season. From festive train rides to ice skating between the Georgia pines, The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee ensures each moment is merry and bright for guests of all ages with an abundance of family and kids-only experiences.

Celebrate the annual opening of the enchanting 6,000-square-foot Ice Rink in The Forest on November 21 at 4 p.m. Have a cup of hot cocoa or apple cider after a few spins on the ice with views of the shimmering lake.  Follow the afternoon of skating with the resort’s Lighting of the Lake for an evening of entertainment and classic holiday carols with a little country flair by Zac Brown Band guitarist, John Hopkins. The season truly begins when the big man in red arrives. He will flip the switch illuminating over 500,000 lights lining the hotel along with the grand 36-foot Christmas tree, spreading holiday cheer at the lake.

Ice Skating will also be available daily at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. through January 6, 2019 and is complimentary for all registered resort guests within the resort fee. Get creative with themed skate days – dress down for pajama skate on December 2, get groovy with the disco theme on December 9, and go all out ugly Christmas sweater style on December 16.

  • Caroling on The Linger Longer Express - Just in time for the holiday season, the Linger Longer Express arrives from the North Pole decked out and ready for carolers of all ages to climb aboard and sing along to favorite Christmas classics. Stop by the Ritz Kids Concierge on your ride back in to write and drop off a Letter to Santa. Our helpful elves will put it on the first sleigh back to Kris Kringle’s village for you. Caroling rides depart from the front drive daily at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Gingerbread House Galore - Pastry Chef David Campbell is bringing the North Pole to Lake Oconee by creating a life-sized Gingerbread House in the main lobby for all to adore. While Chef and his team are at work, build your own at the Gingerbread House Workshops with Mrs. Claus while sipping on hot cocoa and snacking on cookies.   • A Visit from Mr. & Mrs. Claus - Children of all ages will delight in attending Breakfast with Santa where they can share their list with him personally and take a picture in Santa’s lap. Young guests will enjoy a pint-sized breakfast buffet featuring mini pancakes, muffins, waffles and other breakfast items. After a visit with Santa, check in with the most lovable lady of the season for an animated Story Time reading of classic Christmas tales.   • Treats with Santa’s Helpers - Charm the children per a Ritz Kids night out with Elves in Training filled with Christmas games, a festive dinner, sweet treats and a special toy created by our elves. Enjoy one-on-one time during Elf Tuck-ins where children will be treated to a holiday book reading in their guestrooms at bedtime and receive a copy of T’was the Night Before Christmas autographed by Santa. Milk and cookies will complete the evening before kids are snuggled into their beds for a good night’s sleep. RING IN 2019
Bid adieu to 2018 in style at the New Year’s Eve Family Celebration by dancing the night away with live musical entertainment from The Tams in The Ballroom. A cash bar will be serving up cocktail favorites and complimentary passed hors d'oeuvres throughout the evening. Guests will also enjoy a festive, complimentary champagne toast at the stroke of midnight to ring in the New Year. Then, start off 2019 with a cool, fresh dip at the resort’s annual Polar Bear Plunge on January 1.
