The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom

The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom is the ultimate choice for those seeking an atmosphere of grand elegance. This 7,100-square-foot ballroom is the largest on the Northern California coast and seats up to 300 guests for dinner with dancing. The opulant room is adorned with 17-feet high vaulted ceilings and includes chandelier lighting and luxurious carpeting.

The Observatory

The Observatory offers exquisite panoramic views of the majestic Pacific coastline. The natural light and vaulted ceilings perfectly complement the dynamic presentation, creating the ideal venue for any celebration. This space can be used with the adjacent, ocean view, Miramontes Room and Terrace.

Miramar

With floor-to-ceiling windows boasting far-reaching views of the Pacific and emerald green fairways, the Miramar room is a stunning backdrop for any special occasion. The room seats up to 110 for dinner and dancing.

Boasting views of the Pacific waters, the Miramontes Room and Terrace is an ideal venue for an intimate celebration. The 1100-square-foot room featuring floor-to-ceiling windows can accommodate up to 75 guests and includes an octagonal alcove. Guests may click glasses on the Miramontes Terrace offering unlimited fresh sea air and ocean views.

Meetings and events at The Ritz-Carlton are carefully designed to create an unparalleled guest experience while protecting our natural resources. Together with our property-based Ritz-Carlton Environmental Action Conservation Teams (REACT) you and your attendees can support our efforts to reduce our environmental imprint and make a meaningful difference. Within our hotels, we reduce energy and water usage, offer a linen and terry reuse program, and utilize environmentally preferable cleaning products. Our meeting venues support a sustainable future by offering recycled paper products and pens, water service options, organic and local food and sustainable seafood options.

The Wildlife Associates Sanctuary is home to over 50 wild animals that are unable to survive in the wild.  Group guests can be a part of these animals’ stories by crafting behavioral-enrichment puzzles for the animals — including foxes, eagles and lynxes — which are native to Northern California and preparing daily meals for the animals who have been placed at the sanctuary for protection.

Impact Experiences are compelling social and environmental impact activities where there is one constant – each program makes a lasting and authentic difference.

 

Impact Experiences offers on-property activities that can be incorporated in the conference agenda during lunch breaks, receptions and coffee breaks, including:

  • Partnering with the hotel’s culinary team to prepare the ingredients for a regionally adapted dish for donation to a local hunger relief organization.
  • Assembling school supplies and art materials in backpacks for donation to students whose academic success is threatened by poverty.
  • Collaborating in teams to assemble emergency preparedness kits for shipping to a disaster relief facility or community organization.
  • Designing and creating greetings and birthday cards for children in a local pediatric healthcare facility or children’s organization.
  • Impact Hour, a platform for leaders from The Ritz-Carlton Community Footprints partner organizations to showcase how they are successfully addressing social and environmental issues.

A twinkling diamond light curtain transforms the Ballroom into a starry night. A 40-foot-wide, art-deco skyline backs the stage surrounded by boxwood hedges illuminated with miniature white lights. An elegant five-course meal awaits your guests. Fine wine and champagne will complement the special selection that our Executive Chef and you create to set the mood for this celebratory evening.

Mavericks on the Coast

This welcome reception demonstrates all the glories of Half Moon Bay, the Northern California coast and the world famous surf spot-Mavericks. Learn about the unbelievable world of big wave surfing with photos and stories of the "Men who ride Mountains." An authentic surf shack serves as one of many food stations with surfboards, local flowers and palm trees. Guests will savor the freshest local ingredients.

Conference and Hollow Square
Appropriate for interactive discussions and note-taking sessions for fewer than 25 people. Many hotels have elegant "boardrooms" for 10 to 20 people, equipped with full audiovisual capabilities, a writing board, cork board and a flip chart.
E-Shape, U-Shape and T-Shape
Appropriate for groups of fewer than 40 people. These are best for interaction with a leader seated at the head of the setup. Audiovisual is usually best set up at the open end of the seating.
Theater
Appropriate for large sessions and short lectures that do not require extensive note-taking. This is a convenient setup to use before breaking into discussion or role-playing groups because chairs can be moved.
Reception
Stand-up social function where beverages and light foods are served. Foods may be presented on small buffet tables or passed by servers. May precede a meal function.
Schoolroom or Classroom
The most desirable setup for medium to large-size lectures. Requires a relatively large room. Tables provide attendees with space for spreading out materials and taking notes.
