Morning Chanting Experience

This activity is held with private access at Myokaku-ji Temple, where the chanting of monks is accompanied by the resonant sound of Japanese drums. At the conclusion of the chanting session, the art of playing the drums will be introduced, followed by the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Japanese breakfast with the monks, offering the perfect start to a Kyoto morning.

The Art of Kyo-Karakami Paper Craft

Karakami, a delicate paper often used in the sliding doors of shrines, temples, and tearooms in Japan, is introduced in this experience. The intricate art of Karakami is taught by skilled artisans, allowing the creation of paper designs inspired by Kyoto's heritage. At the conclusion of the class, the opportunity will be offered to take home exquisite creation, a tangible piece of Kyoto's rich cultural legacy.

Kindly arrive in front of the concierge desk 10 minutes prior to the starting time.

If the guest cancels a chargeable activity on the reserved day, the cancellation charge will be 100% of the activity fee. Programs are subject to change without notice.
