Boutique Hideaway Celebrates Miami’s Original Neighborhood with New Look and Offerings
MIAMI, FL. January 2019 –The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, Miami has unveiled a yearlong redesign of its guest rooms, lobby experience, pool area and culinary offerings. The new look and feel brings to life the independent and artistic spirit of Miami's original neighborhood through genuine hospitality with bohemian flair.
The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, Miami is a luxury urban retreat that provides access to a lively community brimming with activity alongside the privacy and comfort of a boutique hideaway. Visitors are beckoned by the exquisite Vizcaya and Fairchild gardens; observing local artists at work in their storefront studios; and exploring village shops and cafes.
Through partnership with Bill Rooney Studio, the fresh design infuses elements of the historic Florida neighborhood, so that it is an authentic extension of its environment. Influenced by the peacock hues of blue, violet and green, the hotel exquisitely blends in to the lush surroundings of this Biscayne Bay artist enclave, making it a work of art itself. The look is modern and authentic to the brand’s iconic upscale accommodations but rooted in an avant-garde style that is distinct to The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, Miami.
“We thoughtfully drew inspiration to reflect a legacy the Coconut Grove district has etched in history and embody what the community has become today,” said Mark Ferland General Manager. “The hotel remains an instrumental piece in telling the Coconut Grove story. Whether you’re joining us for a vacation with friends, family celebration or a solo trip, we are thrilled to welcome you to explore and connect with the eclectic culture.”
The 115 redesigned guest rooms and suites bridge the gap between city living and a seaside escape. All new neutral-toned furniture, luxe white fabrics and beachy textures—teak, canvas and jute—welcome a strong sense of place. Gold accents and locally-sourced art pieces tie in a bespoke bohemian vibe. In-room features include indulgent bed linens, soaking tub, marble bathroom, private balcony, and floor-to-ceiling windows for maximum light and views.
The public spaces have also been updated to enhance guest experience. The lobby provides for a design-forward black and white backdrop while guests are treated to hallmark Ritz-Carlton service and amenities. Unconventional yet upscale features—leather-wrapped columns—and pops of peacock hues—dark green velvet furniture—offer individuality throughout the space. The new pool area encourages guests to find inner tranquility amongst lush landscape and within indulgent poolside cabanas.
Brand new upscale culinary offerings, in partnership with LDV Hospitality, draw from Florida’s coastal and Latin ingredients and flavors. Isabelle’s Grill Room & Garden offers a modern interpretation on American fare that will invigorate the senses in a bright and breezy dining room complete with dynamic service. Highly-anticipated menu items include Beef Carpaccio, Spanish Octopus, Lobster Pappardelle, and a variety of prime, aged cut meats from the grill. The Commodore, named after Coconut Grove’s Ralph Middleton Munroe, is a mixology hotspot with live music. With the notion that every cocktail is meant to tell a story, The Commodore’s team of passionate mixologists showcase their talents through a nightly rotating cocktail menu.
“It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Coconut Grove culinary community,” said Executive Chef Abel Veulens. “We hope guests walk away with much more than just a taste of high-quality Miami flavor but also a dining experience that invigorates the senses.”
