TYSONS CORNER, VA (AUGUST 30, 2017) - The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, known for their elegant service and world class culinary offerings, is excited to debut the Gentleman’s Tea, offered exclusively in Entyse Wine Bar & Lounge, one of Northern Virginia’s favorite dining destinations. The curated Gentleman’s Tea menu will include craft bourbon-infused tea cocktails, paired with delicious sweet and savory tea menu items that unearth fall’s most brilliant flavors – from maple smoked bacon and roasted apples to toasty pecan pie and rich caramel corn.
Paying homage to the classic ritual of afternoon tea and in celebration of National Bourbon Month, the Gentleman’s Tea at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, priced at $64 per adult (not including tax or gratuity), presents a menu of bourbon-infused high tea cocktails and culinary menu items that pair perfectly with the warm flavors of bourbon and crisp autumn weather.
The eclectic tea offerings include both hot and cold tea cocktail selections, enhanced with a specialty blend of carefully selected bourbon. Hot bourbon “tea” cocktails include Wild Herb with chamomile tea, Jameson’s Irish Whiskey, honey; Tennessee Gentleman with caramel blend tea, Gentleman Jack, cigar smoke; and Citrus Shot with rooibos citrus tea, Bulleit Bourbon, honey. For those who favor cold tea, the Manhattan Tea - with Woodford Reserve, chilled four fruit tea, sweet vermouth, bourbon poached cherries - is not to be overlooked.
Savory highlights on the Gentleman’s Tea menu executed by executive chef Chris Johnson include Pan Seared Foie Gras with vanilla apple agrodolce, Virginia Ham Bruschetta, Smoked Salmon with lavender honey crème fraîche, and Pork Belly with corncake and blue cheese aioli. “Fall is such a nostalgic season for me, so I had a great deal of fun putting together a new savory menu, refined in nature, but with a rustic twist” says Johnson. “The menu, while elegant with fine enhancements such as foie gras and agrodolce, is rooted in raw seasonality, inspired by the bold and nutty flavors of bourbon - where tones like maple, oak and spices take center stage.”
Venturing into sweeter offerings, sugary standouts from pastry chef Heidi Kabath include Espresso Pecan Pie, Brown Sugar Cherry Biscuits and Vanilla Blueberry Custard with Caramel Corn. “The flavors of autumn are truly so wonderful, I wanted to show them off through pure simplicity” says Kabath. “The smell of coffee roasting on a cold fall morning while a buttery pecan pie bakes in the oven inspired the espresso pie. In addition, I wanted to showcase blueberries and their shoulder season through a whipped, velvety custard enhanced with good old-fashioned caramel corn, taking you back to crisp fall nights at your local town fair.”
