The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay Signature Shop will be holding a vintage costume jewelry trunk show with deco pieces from the 1920-30’s to more modern designer pieces from the 1980’s. Some of the designer pieces that will be available for purchase are Boucher, Haskell, Mazer, Schiaparelli, Weiss and Jomaz.

Tasting fee ranges $25 - $40 per person

Come at your leisure to experience tastings of our Vintner of the Month Franciscan Estate Winery, in ENO Wine Bar. A wine educator from Franciscan Estate Winery will be on hand to discuss the latest wines in their portfolio as well as provide tips and information. Oakville was the ideal place to start their legacy; this was confirmed in 1975 when the very first vintage of their Napa Valley Cabernet was released. The results spoke for themselves – this was a distinctive wine of character and place.

September 6, 2014: Halibut and Fall Mushrooms
In the Kitchen with Chef Tanaka, a series of monthly, demonstration-style cooking class highlighting seasonal fare sourced from the renowned farms surrounding the coastal resort.
Halibut is one of our more popular items on the menu in Navio and the class will demonstrate how to get the perfect sear on the fish. Guests will learn about mushrooms as they look beyond the traditional mushrooms and go in depth with the locally foraged mushrooms that come from King of Mushrooms located in South San Francisco.

In the Kitchen events are $85 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity and are held in Navio from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The program includes a three-course lunch with wine paired by Petra Polakovicova, the resort’s sommelier.

The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay presents the Summer Movie Series 2014. Join us under the stars at the Ocean Terrace for a showing beginning 30-minutes after sunset. Harvest Festival Yappy Hour
Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“Bark” your calendar for Yappy Hour! Stop by the resort’s Cypress Lawn for schmoozing and sniffing with fellow dogs and dog lovers. Canine clientele will savor complimentary treats, toys and flavored waters while their owners enjoy specially priced beer, wine and appetizers from the bar. Volunteer to assist the local community while on vacation. The resort’s Give Back Getaway program provides the opportunity to sort, package and distribute food to in-need families in Half Moon Bay through Coastside Hope. The program takes place the third Thursday of each month at the Coastside Hope facilities. Sorting and packaging of food is from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. with distribution following from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Guests can choose to participate for either two or four hours.

October 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2014: Pumpkins, Pumpkins and Pumpkins
In the Kitchen with Chef Tanaka, a series of monthly, demonstration-style cooking class highlighting seasonal fare sourced from the renowned farms surrounding the coastal resort.
Half Moon Bay is the Pumpkin Capitol of the World and the Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin class highlights creative ways to incorporate pumpkin into a menu. Chef Tanaka reviews the different varieties of pumpkins and outlines the best use for each type including which varietal makes the best soup, the perfect pasta or ravioli filling, or stands up to a flavorful curry dish.

October’s Vintner Dinner is with Far Niente, established by the partners of Far Niente in 1997, Nickel & Nickel is focused on producing single vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the appellation’s most significant AVAs. A small collection of single-vineyard Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel complements the portfolio.
