The luxury hotel debuts a masterpiece showcasing Santa and his reindeer on holiday

SARASOTA, FL (December 2018) – This holiday season, Santa and his reindeer will be taking a well-deserved vacation before delivering gifts to all the good girls and boys, by lounging on the sugary sand beaches of a tropical resort – a gingerbread resort that is! As guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota enter the hotel’s lobby, they will be welcomed by a festive culinary masterpiece complete with a gingerbread hotel, restaurant and spa, along with Santa and his reindeer enjoying the warm sun before heading back to the North Pole.

Spanning over 18 feet long by 14 feet wide, the massive edible structure was conceptualized and created by Executive Pastry Chef Lyndsy McDonald – who has ensured that the lobby of the downtown luxury Sarasota resort is a top attraction during each holiday season.  Fresh off her win on Food Network’s Halloween Baking Championships, this is Chef Lyndsey’s most incredible structure with intricate creation yet.

Guests will be delighted by reindeers enjoying the gingerbread resort’s spa and restaurant, which are suspended over water poured completely out of melted sugar, embodying tropical over-the-water bungalows.  While a few of the reindeer frolic in the water and lounge on the beach, Santa has his much-deserved relaxation time swaying back and forth in an automated hammock with a drink in hand.
