A CLASSIC ITALIAN RESTAURANT WITH A CONTEMPORARY KYOTO TWIST
A masterful blend of Japanese and Italian traditions, La Locanda’s dual heritage is reflected both in the space and on the plate. Wood-paneling, tatami mats and sliding doors of delicate rice paper create an elegant setting for Italian dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. Private dining includes the Chef’s Table by Katsuhito Inoue, where guests are taken on a flavorful journey through Japan’s 72 micro-seasons.
This wood-panelled dining room was once the townhouse of Denzaburo Fujita, founder of the Fujita industrial group. Constructed in 1908, this elegant room has been painstakingly restored and repurposed as a unique dining space, where private groups can enjoy Italian cuisine in a traditional Japanese setting.
