When should I arrive?

For your enhanced comfort and relaxation, we suggest that you arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled treatment in order to complete your health assessment form and take time to relax in the tranquil surroundings of our spa before your treatment. We recommend using the infrared sauna and steam, prior to any treatment. This will stimulate your blood and lymphatic systems and enhance the benefits of your spa treatment.

Who can help me choose the right treatment for me?

Our Spa reception will help you plan the perfect Spa experience. Unique Spa combinations are specially designed to offer you a selection of our most popular treatments.

Should men shave before a facial?

Shaving isn’t necessary but it’s recommended. If you do choose to shave prior to your facial, be sure to do so at least 2-3 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.

What about my jewelry and valuables?

Please leave such items in the safe in your hotel room. There are lockers available for your personal items in the Spa facility.

What do I wear during my treatment?

Wear whatever is comfortable to you. All of our therapists are trained to drape towels discreetly over any areas of the body not involved with the treatment and protect your privacy at all times. Disposable undergarments are also available at the Spa.

Is there minimum age?

We love children; however, we recommend that you avoid bringing children younger than 16 years old to the spa. Young guests, 16 – 18 years old are welcome to enjoy a selection of treatments under the supervision of a guardian.

What if I am late for my appointment?

Arriving late will simply limit time for your treatment, thus lessening its effectiveness and your pleasure. Your treatment will end on time so that the next guest is not delayed. The full cost of the treatment will be applied.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you must reschedule your appointment, please notify us five hours before your scheduled appointment to avoid being charged the full service fee. Cancellations of packages or private parties require 24 hour notice.

What about payment for the Spa service?

All major credit cards are accepted. You may also charge Spa services to your hotel bill or membership account if applicable. All prices are quoted in OMR Omani Riyals and are inclusive of applicable taxes, service charges, and 5% VAT. For your convenience, payment is also accepted prior to your treatments.

What are the Spa hours of operation?

Spa: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Treatment Times: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Ladies Beach: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

What about gratuities?

Gratuities are not included in the Spa treatment’s price. They are a matter of personal discretion.

What about taxes?

Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes, service charges, and 5% VAT.

Is Smoking allowed in the Spa?

Al Bustan Palace Spa by The Ritz-Carlton is a non-smoking environment.

May I request a male or female therapist for the treatments?

As per country law, your therapist will be of the same gender.

Can I keep my mobile phone at the spa?

In consideration of other guests, smoking and active mobile phones are not permitted in the spa. Al Bustan Palace Spa by The Ritz-Carlton is a sanctuary of peace and harmony, so please be aware of the volume of your voice so as not to disturb other guests.

What about my comfort?

This is your time and you should enjoy the experience to the fullest. Whether it’s the room temperature, the amount of massage pressure, or the volume of the music. Please notify us of any discomfort preferences.

What if I have special health considerations?

Please notify our Spa reception before booking your treatment if you have high blood pressure, allergies, other physical ailments or disabilities. If you have any concern at all, let us know in advance. You will be asked to complete a full medical questionnaire prior to your treatment.

What if I am pregnant?

While there are a few services that should be avoided during pregnancy, there are many beneficial treatments that can be enjoyed. If you are pregnant, please notify our Spa desk agent when you make your appointments so that they can offer guidance.
