Newly appointed Head Bartender Alexa Delgado takes the helm of the bar
The bar at Lightkeepers at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami will cast a brighter beacon for South Florida cocktailers this summer with a dazzling new lineup of drinks by newly-appointed Head BartenderAlexa Delgado. Before taking the helm of the bar at Lightkeepers Delgado, a Miami native and seasoned hospitality professional, served as the Food and Beverage Supervisor of Rumbar at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami. She was integral in making it one of the biggest draws on the island and is now bringing to Lightkeepers the charm, talent and sophistication that helped make Rumbar’s offerings so tempting.
In keeping with Lightkeeper’s concept, the cocktails take their cues and inspirations from Florida’s rich history. For instance, the Miami ’35 – Lighthouse gin, hibiscus-lime syrup, lemon juice, St. Germain Elderflower liqueur and sparkling wine – is a tropical twist on a French 75 and named as a nod to the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane. The Category 5 storm was the most intense hurricane to make landfall in the United States, devastating the Florida East Coast railroad.
The distinct lineup also introduces The Julia – named after Julia Tuttle – made with Old St. Pete Tropical gin, Crème de Violette, lemon juice, simple syrup, Keys Beez and Honey-Lemon foam; and the Keypirinha – an eclectic twist on the traditional Brazilian caipirinha and an ode to Key Biscayne – made with Leblon cachaça, simple syrup, lime wedges, pineapple cubes, pineapple juice and egg whites. The Miami Godfather pays respect to American industrialist Henry Morrison Flagler and consists of Scotch, Disarrono Amaretto, lemon juice, simple syrup and mango cubes. The Knaus Berry Smash sources fresh strawberries from Homestead’s beloved Knaus Berry Farms and is made with Buffalo Trace bourbon, strawberry liqueur, strawberries, basil leaves and Fever Tree ginger ale. The Bayfront Breeze is made with Russian Standard vodka, St. Germaine Elderflower liqueur, lime juice, cucumber, mint leaves and Fever Tree club soda.
Guests can kick back, relax and relish the Key’s gorgeous oceanfront breezes while sipping on refreshing craft cocktails at the indoor/outdoor bar and enjoying bites by Executive ChefRaul A. Del Pozo. Drinks are priced between $15 - $16. Stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean are complimentary.
