Though admired by its greatness in past centuries, today Mayan communities are struggling to overcome the rural conditions of their villages. Travel south of Cancun to a Mayan pueblito and assist with much needed community development efforts. With the leadership of Kanché, a non-profit organization, you will work side-by-side with the resort’s volunteers and the native residents to help improve the conditions of the school. Activities range from painting and gardening to simple carpentry and furniture restoration. Depending on the event, you may also collaborate in the implementation of recycling programs. You are cordially invited to create a lasting contribution in Quintana Roo, while learning Mayan words to communicate with the locals. Children between 14 and 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

• Surprise Mom and Dad

  Start your day with a home made breakfast prepared by your kids in the Culinary Center as they become chefs for a day! This season, children are invited to join an interactive cooking session and learn how to prepare breakfast favorites that will surprise Mom and Dad.
  * All children’s classes are designed for kids ages four to 14 and must be accompanied by an adult.

• Chocolate, chocolate… chocolate!
  3 p.m. to 5 p.m. / The Culinary Center
  Explore the fascinating world of this delicacy and be seduced by its aromas, textures, and flavors while learning inside tips and techniques to become a true Chocolatier. From tuxedo strawberries and chocolate truffles to bitter chocolate sauce, this class will teach you how to prepare luscious and surprising recipes that will delight your senses.

  Little ladies and gents can wear Chef hats and work alongside with the Culinary Center’s Chef in a lesson that will teach them easy to learn recipes of all-time Italian favorites.

• A Tuscan Dinner Party
  3 to 5 p.m. / The Culinary Center
  In Italy, dining is an event to be shared with friends and family. And there is nothing different about it here. Join us at the Culinary Center to prepare classic Italian cuisine using the freshest ingredients and authentic techniques. Enjoy a glass of fine Chianti while preparing several courses that bring together the exquisite flavors of Tuscany.
  

• Holiday Cookie Decoration

  For the young and young at heart this family activity is designed to entertain and educate. Little guests will work with the Culinary Center Chef to bake and decorate holiday cookies. Afterwards, the whole family enjoys their creations with delicious hot cocoa or juices.

• Boutique Wine Tasting
  5 p.m. to 7 p.m. / The Culinary Center
  Discover the treasures hidden within the valley of Guadalupe in Baja California. Experience six exclusive hand-picked wines and be inspired with the textures, aromas and flavors of the finest boutique Mexican wines. 

• Tree Lighting Ceremony
  6 p.m. / The Lobby
  The Lobby becomes the ideal setting to initiate the Holiday Festivities with the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Join us in this memorable experience. 

• Posada “Mexican Christmas Party”
  6:30 p.m. / The Plaza Ballroom
  The festive ambience of the season comes alive in the Posada, a traditional Mexican Christmas party. Come celebrate with us while singing Villancicos (traditional carols), and breaking the Piñata.

• Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop
  11 a.m. to 1 p.m. / The Culinary Center
  The holiday tradition continues as children wear chef hats, and work alongside our chefs to decorate their own gingerbread house. The little ones learn how to make a candy chimney or create a cobblestone walkway with chocolates.

• A Festive Christmas
  6 to 11 p.m. / El Café Mexicano
  A grand holiday feast for the entire family, mingling Christmas tradition, Mexican gastronomy and classical treats. Enjoy this special holiday with a buffet-style dinner while being entertained by live music and traditional Christmas songs.

• Christmas Eve Gourmet Dinner
  6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. / The Club Grill and Fantino
  Enjoy a festive five-course a la carte holiday menu with live musical entertainment in the sophisticated ambiance of The Club Grill or in a more intimate fashion at Fantino.

  Bask in the sensual moonlight of the Mayans around an alluring bonfire. Our Mexican style lounge at Casitas invites you to linger under the glittering sky, sip tropical cocktails and savor a tantalizing menu of culinary delights while being seduced by the soothing rhythms of a guitarist. The Moonlight Fest is the ideal way to spend your Caribbean nights in a blissful atmosphere with family and friends.

  Start 2008 in El Café Mexicano and let our Mariachis seduce you with their lively, authentic rhythms. A fabulous buffet dinner featuring specialties from all regions of the country complements this memorable experience.
