The Turtle Guardian Experience

August through November

Become a Sea Turtle Guardian and witness the miracle of life.

The Turtle Camp is the name of our ecological project which allows our guests to come in contact with marine turtles. The objective is conservation. It is estimated that only one out of 100 turtles survives to adulthood.

Since the hotel opened in 1993, our beach has been the sanctuary where marine turtles feel safe enough to come ashore, year after year, and lay their eggs. For more than 16 years we have protected 1,227 turtle nests and released 185,098 baby turtles.

From May to September, our Sea Turtle Guardians patrol the beach at night looking for nesting turtles, then recover the eggs and carefully rebury them in our Turtle Camp, where they will be watched for 50 to 60 days until they hatch. After this time, the hatchlings are released at sunset, to increase their chance of survival.

In the months of August thru November we may have the privilege of releasing baby turtles into the sea during your stay.

This season enjoy the festive ambiance of the resort as thousands of twinkling lights and truly distinctive decorations transform the hotel into a magical wonderland. During your visit, we hope to delight your senses and create unforgettable moments for you and your loved ones.
