As Jean-Michel Cousteau says, “All kids start out as scientists, constantly asking ‘Why? What’s that? How does it work?’” Ritz Kids resort experiences tap into that innate curiosity by introducing our youngest guests to both the natural wonders and the rich cultural traditions of our resort locations. Immersive and adventurous, the San Juan family resort experiences provide your child with enthralling activities to reward their interest in the beauty and workings of the world we live in. With a diverse collection of activities based on the four pillars of the program – water, land, environmental responsibility and culture – kids are swept away by everything from coral reefs and forests, to recycling and sustainability, storytelling, art and even food.

Our Ritz Kids program introduces our young guests to the natural wonders of the island through a variety of environmental responsibility adventures. Designed for children ages 4 through 12, the supervised program entertains kids with educational games and activities featuring different themes throughout the week.

Ritz Kids Activity Schedule

The Ritz Kids program provides hands-on, interactive learning and fun in an assortment of nature-themed activities. Sample programs include:

Coral Reefs: Cities Under the Sea
Want to learn why a coral reef is really a city under the sea? Then come join us as we have fun, playing games like Race to the Reef, while exploring the inner workings of a coral reef. Discover who the security guard is, who the doctor is and who is responsible for keeping it all clean. The answers will surprise you!

Whether you are fascinated by or scared of the world of sharks, this activity is for you. Through a variety of games, activities and videos, we learn about different kinds of sharks, why sharks are so misunderstood and how sharks are important to us and to the ocean.

Ocean Mystery
Ever wonder why ocean creatures look so strange to us? Well, it’s all for a reason. The ocean is full of mysteries, and we discuss why these critters look the way they do and the important jobs that they accomplish for our planet. Through challenge and games, we reveal the mysteries of the ocean.

Trash Bash
When we throw something away, where is away? What really happens to our trash? Is all trash created equal? Find out the answers to these questions and more as we learn how to help save our planet through art, games and, you guessed it, TRASH! How does our trash affect the world around us and what can we do to help?

For the Birds
Did you know that there is a bird that can fly over 100 mph (161 km/h)? This activity looks at the world from a bird’s eye view as we examine all of the fascinating types of birds and some of the amazing things that they can do. Play games, create art and even search for some birds out in the wild.

Things We Eat
Delve into varieties of food, where they come from and who eats what. Look at strange foods people eat around the world and be shocked by how far some of our own food travels. Through a variety of unique activities and games, we will have you asking, “What exactly are the things we eat?”

Amazing Nature
Through dynamic, interactive games we realize just how amazing nature can be. Discover the humans inventions that nature did first, like Velcro and army tanks, and challenge yourself to invent something new. We investigate the special talents that some critters have and the important gifts we get from nature.

Whale of the Tale
Discover our connection to marine mammals, especially whales, in this entertaining activity. Explore topics like what it takes to be a marine mammal, what is blubber and how does it keep whales warm, how whales eat and much more. Dive in as we learn about our air-breathing friends in the sea and what makes them so special and loved.
